Wayne Rooney has retired from playing after being appointed Derby County manager on a permanent basis. The 35-year-old retires as the all-time leading goalscorer for both Manchester United and England. His interim coaching staff have also been retained.

Michael O’Neill resigns as Northern Ireland manager

Michael O’Neill has left his role as Northern Ireland manager after eight years in order to solely focus on his position in charge of Stoke. He was set to see out Euro 2020 qualification with the North but the postponement of the tournament has seen him resign.
