Chelsea have appointed Leicester manager Enzo Maresca as their new boss on a five-year contract with the option of an extra year. The Italian replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who left by mutual consent on 21 May after just one season at Stamford Bridge. Maresca, 44, took charge of the Foxes in June 2023 and led them to the Championship title last term.

José Mourinho to be unveiled as Fenerbahce manager

Jose Mourinho is set to be named manager of Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce. The 61 year old has been out of work since he was sacked by AS Roma in January. A serial winner, Mourinho will replace Ismail Kartal, who left Fenerbahce on Friday after they finished second in the league to city rivals Galatasaray, despite losing just one game and recording 99 points last term.

Olympiacos strike late to pip Fiorentina to Conference League crown

Ayoub El Kaabi struck four minutes from the end of extra time as Olympiakos beat Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final to become the first Greek side to win a European trophy. The Moroccan striker, hero of Olympiakos’ run to the final, stooped low to head in Santiago Hezze’s cross and spark pandemonium in the AEK Arena in Athens. Bayern Munich appoint Vincent Kompany as new head coach

Bayern Munich have appointed Vincent Kompany as their new head coach on a three-year deal. The Belgian, 38, succeeds Thomas Tuchel and leaves Burnley for the Bundesliga side after the two clubs agreed a compensation fee, believed to be in the region of €12m. His appointment comes after a prolonged process to find a replacement for Tuchel after several high profile managers turned down offers to take charge of the Bavarian giants.
