Kylian Mbappé joins Real Madrid on a five year deal

France forward Kylian Mbappe says it is a “dream come true” as his long-awaited move to Real Madrid was confirmed, external on Monday evening. Mbappe, 25, will move to the Bernabeu Stadium on a five-year deal when his Paris St-Germain contract expires on 30 June. He will earn €15m a season, plus a €150m signing-on bonus to be paid over five years, and he will keep a percentage of his image rights.

Chelsea appoint Leicester’s Enzo Maresca as new head coach

Chelsea have appointed Leicester manager Enzo Maresca as their new boss on a five-year contract with the option of an extra year. The Italian replaces Mauricio Pochettino, who left by mutual consent on 21 May after just one season at Stamford Bridge. Maresca, 44, took charge of the Foxes in June 2023 and led them to the Championship title last term.

José Mourinho to be unveiled as Fenerbahce manager

Jose Mourinho is set to be named manager of Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce. The 61 year old has been out of work since he was sacked by AS Roma in January. A serial winner, Mourinho will replace Ismail Kartal, who left Fenerbahce on Friday after they finished second in the league to city rivals Galatasaray, despite losing just one game and recording 99 points last term.

Real Madrid down wasteful Dortmund to win Champions League

Real Madrid rode their luck and overcame an outstanding challenge from Borussia Dortmund to win the Champions League Final at Wembley. The German side hit the woodwork and spurned several chances to take the lead in the first half but a Dani Carvajal header 16 minutes from time turned the tide with Vinicius Jr adding a late second to secures a record extending 15th Champions League crown for Los Blancos.
