FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has been ruled out of Euro 2024 with the Netherlands due to injury. De Jong hasn’t played since being stretchered off in El Clasico in April but had linked up with the national team ahead of the European Championship. Yet it’s now been confirmed that De Jong won’t fly out to Germany with the squad for the tournament and will instead return to Barcelona for further treatment.

Veteran striker Jamie Vardy has signed a new one-year contract at Leicester. The 37-year-old will extend his stay at the King Power to 12 years after agreeing a deal for the 2024-25 season. Napoli have appointed Antonio Conte as manager, the Serie A club announced on Wednesday, with the Italian signing a contract until 2027. Conte will be coming back from a one-year break following his departure from the position of head coach at Tottenham.
