Wolves have appointed Rob Edwards as their new head coach after he left Middlesbrough to join the Premier League’s bottom side. Edwards has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux. The 42-year-old had been in talks with Wolves since Saturday after he was stood down from Boro’s Championship game against Birmingham and was given permission to speak to Wolves.

Gary O’Neil has withdrawn from the process to become the new Wolves head coach after holding talks with his former club. O’Neil held positive conversations with Wolves but felt the job was not right for him at this time. Rob Edwards is another candidate being explored by the club. The former Wolves defender has helped Middlesbrough to second in the Championship this season.
