Premier League referee David Coote has been suspended after a video allegedly showing him making derogatory comments about Liverpool and the club’s former manager Jurgen Klopp was circulated on social media. Refereeing body PGMOL says the suspension comes into force with immediate effect and is pending a full investigation.

Mohamed Salah scored a late equaliser as Liverpool came from behind twice to earn a point at title rivals Arsenal. Bukayo Saka had given the home side an early lead before Virgil Van Dijk headed Livepool level. Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League with victory over Chelsea at Anfield as manager Arne Slot’s outstanding start continued. Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead from the spot after 29 minutes, Nicolas Jackson equalised for the visitors three minutes after the restart but Liverpool took only three minutes to restore their lead through Curtis Jones who appeared at the back post to slide home the winner from a Salah cross.

Liverpool claimed an assured victory at AC Milan on their Champions League return to firmly bounce back from Saturday’s shock defeat by Nottingham Forest. The Reds were stunned on the break inside three minutes when AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic found the net with a driven strike across goal. Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher has said that his desire is to leave Liverpool and prove himself as the number one goalkeeper at another club. Kelleher has served as back-up to Alisson Becker in the Liverpool goal for a number of seasons and has generally impressed with his performances when called upon, winning two League Cups in the process.
