Russian Formula 2 driver Nikita Mazepin will make the step up to Formula 1 next season after Haas announced his signing on a multi-year deal this morning. Mazepin currently sits third overall in the F2 championship with one round to go. His partner at Haas is as yet unknown.

Pietro Fittipaldi to replace Grosjean at Sakhir Grand Prix

Brazilian driver Pietro Fittipaldi will race in place of Romain Grosjean for Haas in this weekend’s Sakhir Grand Prix following the Frenchman’s fiery accident in yesterday’s Bahrain Grand Prix. Grosjean is being treated for burns to his hands in hospital but has avoided serious injury.

Hamilton wins Bahrain Grand Prix marred by horrific Grosjean crash

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain Grand Prix ahead of Red Bull duo Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon but the race was overshadowed by an opening lap crash that saw Romain Grosjean’s Haas engulfed in flames. The Frenchman miraculously emerged from the inferno with minor injuries.
