Gernot Trauner headed Austria into an early lead but Poland responded through Krzysztof Piatek. But he was also at the centre of a late injury scare. Italy scored twice in extra-time through Federico Chiesa and Matteo Pessina to progress to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020. Austria scored in normal time but saw the goal ruled out for offside and a late goal from Sasa Kalajdzic made life difficult for Italy who survived to book a match with either Belgium or Portugal.
