Crystal Palace have appointed former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner as their new manager. The 49-year-old Austrian replaces Roy Hodgson, who stepped down on Monday so Palace could “bring forward their plans to appoint a new manager at the end of the season”. Hodgson, 76, was taken ill at a training session last week amid rumours of a potential sacking.

Bayern Munich failed to close the gap on Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen as they crumbled to a 3-2 defeat to struggling Bochum on Sunday. The 59-year-old has faced criticism for continuing to base himself in Los Angeles and reports of in-fighting among the squad also chipped away at his authority.
