Evan Ferguson missed an early penalty for the Republic as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Belgium in a friendly at the Aviva Stadium. In John O’Shea’s first game as interim manager, Ferguson saw his tame spot-kick saved by Belgium goalkeeper Matz Sels. Leicester City have been charged by the Premier League with allegedly breaking spending rules during their last three seasons in the top flight. Leicester have been referred to an independent commission for breaching profit and sustainability rules (PSR) and failing to submit audited finances. If found guilty the Championship high-flyers could face a points deduction.

Nottingham Forest have been docked four points for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules. The deduction drops Forest into the Premier League’s relegation zone, leaving them 18th with nine games to play. Forest admitted a breach by £34.5million above their permitted threshold of £61million.
