Italy beat Wales in Cardiff to achieve their most successful Six Nations campaign and consign their hosts to a first Wooden Spoon in 21 years. A try from wing Monty Ioane and two Paulo Garbisi penalties gave Italy an 11-0 half-time lead. Lorenzo Pani added a brilliant score with Garbisi and Martin Page-Relo kicking penalties. Wales responded with tries from Elliot Dee, Will Rowlands and Mason Grady to give the score some respectability.

Atletico come from behind to edge Inter on penalties

Lautaro Martinez missed the crucial penalty for Inter Milan as Atletico Madrid claimed a shootout victory to move into the Champions League quarter-finals. Inter held a 1-0 lead from the first leg going into this game and doubled that lead when Federico Dimarco put them ahead after half an hour – but Atleti instantly responded through Antoine Griezmann’s leveller on the night two minutes later.

Sancho and Reus send Dortmund past PSV

Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in three years thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus against PSV Eindhoven. Sancho’s low driving shot from the edge of the area gave Dortmund the lead in the third minute, PSV had chances to level it but a late Marco Reus goal ended their European campaign.

Barcelona beat Napoli to reach quarter-finals

FC Barcelona reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in four years with an entertaining victory over Napoli. Fermin Lopez and Joao Cancelo put Barcelona on their way but the hosts were made to work hard by the Italian side who pulled one back through Amir Rrahmani. Robert Lewandowski’s close-range finish with seven minutes from time settled the tie.
