Lions dominate Australia to win opening test

The British and Irish Lions beat the Wallabies 27-19 in the opening Test at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Leading 24-5 early in the second half and looking like they might threaten to record one of the biggest victories in their history, the Lions fell away in the last half-hour. McAteer on target as Ireland draw with Senegal

The Republic of Ireland had to settle for a share of the spoils as they drew 1-1 with Senegal at Aviva Stadium. Kasey McAteer making his first start for Heimir Hallgrimsson repaid the manager with the opening goal in the 21st minute and a man of the match performance. PSG pummel Inter to win maiden Champions League title

Paris Saint Germain were crowned kings of Europe for the first time with a thumping 5-0 Champions League final victory over Inter Milan in Munich. Achraf Hakimi and Desire Doue struck inside the opening 20 minutes to reward a dominant start as PSG became only the second French side to win the trophy after Marseille in 1993. Inter were unable to get a foothold in the game as the Parisians turned on the style in the second half to record a resounding win.
