This weekend’s Italian Grand Prix has been declared a heat hazard race. Temperatures are forecast above 31 degrees Celsius on Sunday. It’s the second time the measure has been put in place this season, after the Austrian Grand Prix in June. It means that drivers can avail of a cooling kit during the race.

Lando Norris and McLaren beat Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli to take a masterful strategic victory in a compelling Dutch Grand Prix. A topsy-turvy race started amid chaos as Max Verstappen crashed his Red Bull at high speed on a damp track at the end of the first lap, leading to a red flag. Antonelli took the lead from Norris at the restart, but through two pit stops, Norris built a tyre offset to fight back and pass Antonelli for the win. Lewis Hamilton was leading the race at the time, just ahead of the battling pair, out of sync on his pit stops, but Norris went past him further around the same lap to take the lead on track.

McLaren’s Lando Norris took his first grand prix pole position of the season in Hungary – but Lewis Hamilton was denied the chance to make it an all-British front row by a penalty for impeding. A three-place penalty for blocking Norris’ team-mate Oscar Piastri has dropped Hamilton to fifth on the grid. Charles Leclerc will now start from P2 in the second Ferrari while championship leader Kimi Antonelli rises to third in his Mercedes.

Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli re-established the comfortable championship lead that had been eroded in the past three races with victory in the Belgian Grand Prix while team-mate George Russell crashed out. The Italian fought back from a delay caused by a virtual safety-car period to catch and pass Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for his sixth win in 10 races this season.
