Bryan Mbeumo completes £71m Manchester United move from Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo says he has joined “the club of his dreams” after completing his move from Brentford for an initial £65m. The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months. Tim Wellens powers to dominant stage 15 victory – Tour de France

There was yet more success for UAE Team Emirates-XRG at the Tour de France on Sunday as Tadej Pogacar’s team-mate Tim Wellens sealed a dominant victory on Stage 15. The Belgian road champion launched an attack with just over 43km to go and never looked back as UAE clinched their fifth stage win of the Tour so far. Victor Campenaerts took second place.

Scheffler four clear ahead of final round – The Open

Scottie Scheffler continued his imperious march towards a first Open Championship title in a third round which had contained all the ingredients to set up a classic. Instead, world number one Scheffler, who has won the past nine times he has held the 54-hole lead, will take a four-shot advantage over China’s Li Haotong into Sunday’s final round. Victory on Sunday at Royal Portrush would complete the third leg of the career Grand Slam, having won May’s US PGA Championship, to add to two Masters titles.
