Johnny Sexton to face EPCR disciplinary hearing over Champions Cup conduct

The EPCR have confirmed that Ireland captain Johnny Sexton will appear before a disciplinary committee next month, in relation to his conduct after the Champions Cup final at the Aviva Stadium in May. Misconduct complaints were brought against Sexton and Leinster by tournament organisers regarding his behaviour towards the match officials immediately after full-time in the final, which Leinster lost 27-26 to La Rochelle.

Arsenal sign Chelsea’s Kai Havertz for £65m

Arsenal have signed Germany forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65m. The 24-year-old has signed a “long-term deal” at Emirates Stadium, three years after joining the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen for £71m. The fee for Havertz, who scored nine goals for the Blues last season, could rise with add-ons.

İlkay Gündoğan joins Barcelona on a free transfer from Man City

Barcelona have completed the signing of midfielder Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City as a free agent, both clubs announced on Monday. Gundogan, 32, is out of contract with City at the end of the month and has agreed to join Barca on a two-year deal with the option for a third year, the Spanish champions confirmed. His release clause has been fixed at €400 million.
