Tadej Pogacar took back time in the race for the yellow jersey on Stage 9 but Jonas Vingegaard refused to crack as the Dane clung onto the overall lead at the Tour de France. Michael Woods won the day after timing his climb perfectly to sweep past Matteo Jorgenson as the American ran out of steam in the final 500 metres to finish outside the top three.

Verstappen holds off Norris to win British Grand Prix

Max Verstappen cruised to victory in the British Grand Prix for his sixth win in a row and a record-equalling 11th consecutive triumph for Red Bull. McLaren’s Lando Norris fought off an attack from Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes after a late safety car to finish second to give the 160,000 fans a double home podium to cheer.
